Google unveiled a new project that could potentially be a major contender against social networking giant, Facebook. The announcement already has people buzzing about the new social network called Google+.
One of the strategies that Google often employs is to have limited beta invites for its releases. This helps to iron out any errors and bugs, but also helps build anticipation and excitement for the project. This has worked well for Google+ as well, promoting people to even buy invites on eBay.
Google+ will be integrated into all Google products via a navigation bar. The initial feature set is diverse and allows you to specify smaller groups from your list of friends to share specific items with.
Do you think Google+ could gain enough mainstream users to be a major social network?
