The sleuths at the blog Patently Apple have uncovered a patent that shows possible mechanics for a new file sharing from the iPhone to the iPad. These patents were filed by Apple during the first quarter of 2010.
The descriptions in them point to a unique feature of using animated physics simulations to transfer files. For example, a user could virtually "pour" files from the iPhone "into" the iPad.
Another method of file transfer stated in the patent is using physical gestures. The user could touch the file on the screen and flick it towards the other Apple device to transfer. These file transfer methods, if implemented, could add a fun dynamic to transferring files between Apple devices.
